Tours have ended for the current admissions period. To be notified when the new tour calendar is available, please complete this form.

Admissions Process

1. Tour

We’d love the opportunity to tell you more about our programs! Tours are hosted from October to January. Occassionally we’ll host additional tours if spaces open up mid-year. We’ve compiled a list of Admissions FAQs, to answer any initial questions.

2. Join the Interest List or Submit an Application

After touring, if you decide Montessori In Town is for you, we’ll ask you to fill out a form to join our wait pool or to submit an application.

For Toddler families on the Interest List, we’ll invite you to apply once there’s an opening for your family. Generally, we’ll contact families based on the order they joined the list, but we also have to consider your child’s age and the daily schedule needed, in order to maintain balanced classes.

For Primary and Elementary families, applications are processed annually during our admissions season for the upcoming school year. However, there is occasionally a mid-year opening, so just let us know if you’re hoping to enroll sooner rather than later.

3. Family Meeting

Following your application, you will be contacted to schedule a family meeting.

This is our time to get to know one another. We ask that your child and all parents and/or guardians be present for this meeting. Primary applicants will have a visit in the classroom after school with one of the Guides. Elementary applicants will be invited to join us for a morning during the school day.

4. Admissions Decision

Our team will contact you with the admissions decision. If your application is processed during our admissions season your decision will be emailed by Saturday, March 30th, 2024.

5. Welcome!

We will invite you to complete an enrollment form and place a non-refundable tuition deposit to hold your child's spot.

Transfer Students

If your child has previously attended school, we’ll give you an Authorization for Release of Information and Teacher Recommendation forms. These forms are required for all applicants to the Elementary level. These forms are required for a complete application packet and must be delivered directly from the school office to Montessori In Town in order to be considered valid.

Admissions Policy

Montessori In Town admits children regardless of economic or social class, race, ethnic heritage, religious beliefs, or family structure. Montessori In Town offers Toddler (ages 18 months–3 years), Primary (ages 3–6+ years), and Elementary (ages 6–12 years) programs.

Admissions decisions are made by the administrative staff in conjunction with the teaching staff. These decisions are based on an evaluation of the application, family meeting, school transcripts (if applicable), and the needs of the existing classes.
